About

Who is Denis Lawson?

Denis Lawson is a Scottish Actor, probably most widely known for two things: the first, being one of very few actors to star in each of the Star Wars Original Trilogy movies, and secondly, being actor Ewan McGregor’s uncle. Neither of those two things are his greatest career achievements. You might also recognise him, if you’ve been paying attention to British TV, for his roles in New Tricks, Holby City, Bleak House, or remember his star turn in Local Hero, among many other things. He’s also in possession of an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. This blog aims to highlight—and eventually, provide a comprehensive guide to—some of his many projects outside of his most famous role as Star Wars’ Wedge Antilles.

“A man who can sing and dance up a storm, pull the dames, ooze a belligerent sex appeal and still convince you he is a loser” —Jack Tinker.

About the Author

Amanda Tribble’s favourite Star Wars character is Wedge Antilles. She did what every person does with their favourite fictional character: go and watch everything else that that actor has ever appeared in. Whilst she might not have seen everything in Lawson’s filmography, she has collected a rather contrary DVD collection, along with a healthy appreciation for the man’s acting talents. She started this blog as a way to document his many, varied projects. (And to have an excuse to rewatch all the things in her collection.)

When not watching television shows starring Denis Lawson, Amanda is busy making comics and illustrations. You can check out that work at amandaelanorart.co.uk.
